There is a new plugin installer available with FS2020 support:
https://siminnovations.com/wiki/index.p ... ugins_BETA

Note:
- Only works with AM 4.0 BETA
- Does not support LVARS
- Instruments have not been updated yet. You can use fs2020 API functions though.
- There is no way to determine if FS2020 is installed (just yet), so the plugin will always be installed.

Good news Corjan.
I have read somewhere that the Lvars not exposed is related to the new SDK, as FSUIPC v7 is having the same problem.
That means that a lot of addon specific gauges will no longer be working with FS2020.

Hope that the MSFS developers have thought about a way to publish external variables for Addons in a way or another, or else it will be really tough to use MSGS for a cockpit builder.

Have ASOBO/Microsoft added significantly to the number of standard variables available with the new SDK, like XPlane?

I was sure that we weren't the only one. I don't get why they are in such a hurry to release it. They could have waited until the winter and have had everything properly worked out.

That’s what MS do. Release software with issues and then run around patching the holes. I can’t say I’m surprised.

Navigraph answer to 3PP devs, API in order to bring navdata to MFS 2020 :
https://blog.navigraph.com/post/6263340 ... oft-flight

In this video and blog post, Navigraph's CEO, Magnus Axholt, discusses the role of Navigraph Charts and Navigraph FMS Data in the new simulator. Magnus also talks about the importance of having unified data across all parts of the flightsim ecosystem. To enable that, Navigraph offers APIs to developers who wish to keep their software up to date. Both the Navdata API and Charts API are already in production and are being used by X-Plane, PMDG, Aerosoft, QualityWings and AviTab, to name a few.

Was able to get instruments in separate window that displayed the correct data.
With a nice view of Schiphol and planes at the gates (did not see that in MFSF Beta)

Created a demo panelview with some random instruments.
Nice to see the needles moving...

  • Just to mention I made some testing and get values from LVARS as well
  • FS2020 is installed in "%APPDATA%\Local\Packages\Microsoft.KHAlpha_8wekyb3d8bbwe" so there's best practices bring to us by Microsoft, to browse programmatically for already installed APP packages
