Re: YouTube tutorials poll
Premiere has a lot of useful ways to do things (using previously)
i'm currently using and owning only VideoStudio Ultimate which is simple but not always the best user friendly
indeed the most valuable is Final Cut Pro X on Apple computer, but not the cheapest
PowerDirector would be a great choice with very powerful tools inside (just a lot of adding are served as online DLC so will be more expensive if filters are needed)
and I also know a lot are using Vegas Pro
Resolve is very difficult to tackle
I've tried all of these video editor, at least with a trying version, except Final Cut Pro X I've only seen used by other in corporations
I don't know AVS4you Video editor
here's my preference order :
1 - PowerDirector Ultimate Suite 199.99€ (79.99€ before September 6th)
2 - VideoStudio Ultimate 57.99€ (normally 89.99€)
3 - Magix Video deluxe Premium 79.99€ (50€ discount before September 12th)
4 - Final Cut Pro X 258.60€
5 - Premiere (because of the price) 288.88€/Year
Regards
Gilles

Re: YouTube tutorials poll
OpenShot works quite well if you don't bother too much, it has no snapping to the length of videos on other layers for example, so you have to carefully drag it (optically) to the same length of a video on a different layer. Luckily it makes steps, so if you zoom in close enough you get the same length. It has some other weird quirks, like playing bits of the previous audio if you go to a different part in a video, and sometimes it doesn't update the video image until a few seconds later. No GPU rendering is also a bit disappointing, it takes about 7 minutes to render a video. All in all, for a free software too, I can't complain tool much. I'm uploading the first two videos tonight.

I use wondershare for my video editing.

On another aspect. Where will we be able to access these videos?
Will it be under the forum photo/ video thread? The Sim Innovations YouTube channel or a new tutorial channel?

Filmora looks quite good for a video editing tool, I might give it a try if I really get sick of OpenShot. Right now I have it all working, so I'll continue using it.
I'm uploading it to our YouTube channel, probably in a special playlist. I can post the videos in a forums topic.

Yes please do post in the forum Ralph.Ralph wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 4:04 pm Filmora looks quite good for a video editing tool, I might give it a try if I really get sick of OpenShot. Right now I have it all working, so I'll continue using it.

Talking for myself, I do not visit the main Sim Innovations site often. I almost have a marriage to AM here.
So playlists and links to the YouTube channel will be appreciated.
It also might be beneficial to include all of Russ's videos for referral under the same section.

Re: YouTube tutorials poll
We can indeed link to some of Russ his useful videos (useful for AM users).

Tonight I wont be home, the same as tomorrow until Sunday. So it'll be Monday before I can upload the videos.

Kind of actually. I'm going to the farm of my parents in law, which is in a remote part of the country.
