3 iPads for panel

#1 Post by Gordyd4 »

Just bought X11 and want to configure my panel with 3 iPads and new computer with excellent video card. I have no idea where to start and would like some direction on where to go with this.
Thank you.

You can buy the iPad app in the app store: https://appsto.re/nl/mEtV-.i
The iPad app gives you a walktrough, but actually all you need to do is download and install the plugin:

Can't get it to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I installed the program on my Ipad as well as the plugin on my desktop.

Here's a copy of my support ticket I sent in.
This is a new install.
Computer and iPad not communicating with each other.
I've went on the forum and have read all the iPad threads about not communicating. I've done everything I have read about.

Turned off firewall, checked to make sure plugin is in xplane, when I downloaded the plugin it says it was loaded successfully. IPad settings are auto connect, I tried to manually connect with ip address.
I tried using several of the planes in xplane and none connect to the iPad.

Operating system windows 10 pro.

Thanks, Gordon

It's also good to check if the plugin (Air Plugin) is visible in the X-Plane plugins menu.
Then to be sure you can check C:/users/your_username/Air Plugin/ for the file xpl_log.txt

If this is all okay, then something in between is blocking the data, the router for example.

What do you mean? The iPad is connected by cable to the computer and communicates though the cable correct?

Both computer and iPad are connected to WiFi.

A cable (USB) to the iPad won't work, they need to be connected (on the same network) through Ethernet/WiFi.

Did you check if the plugin is visible in the X-Plane plugins menu?

Then most probably something in between the computer and the iPad is blocking the data, maybe the router. WiFi repeaters also cause trouble quite often.

What if I used a dedicated router so the two could communicate? Being the router would not be connected to the internet.
