Re: DC6 BMEP gauges

Hi you can always recreate the BMEP via other means. A quick search yields to the BMEP value related to Torque BMEP=2𝜋𝑛𝑟𝑇𝑒/𝑛𝑐𝑉𝑑 (in Pa) With nr being the number of crankshaft rotation per revolution (could be 1 on a radial engine, or 2) Te being the Torque (could be retrieved from the sim via ENG TO...

Re: API communication slow using messageport

Considering the low prices of these screens I would definitely consider switching over an SPI version of your screen instead of an I2C interface. Make sure that the SPI interface is the one with 5 data pins +2 for voltage and GND (7 pins total)The other advantage is that SPI allows you to use multip...

Re: API communication slow using messageport

A dumb remark, but make sure that the screen is powered in 3.3V instead of 5V as this information is often lacking from the site vendor. I had a hard time trying to make my own SPI Oled screen to work properly without artifacts and errors until I powered them in 3.3V

Re: Controlling Panel Visibility with Device Switch

The relative gauges position of a standard six pack is set to help for a natural instrument scan, especially in instrument flying where the sole reference of airplane attitude is coming from these instruments. The traditional instrument scan is centered on the artificial horizon (or ADI) and is T-sh...

and here's an example of the 3D effect that can be achieved exclusively in 2D with shadows. I reckon it's quite complicated though.

Re: VERY vertical switch

It can be done indeed, even in 2D. The sense of depth is strictly related to the length of the drop shadow, that tricks the brain into thinking that the button is long or not. The longer the drop shadow, the more protruding the button is. This is exactly the same button with a different drop shadow....

Re: VERY vertical switch

Sorry, but I don't get it. Do you have a picture of the real UH60 switch?

Re: Controlling Panel Visibility with Device Switch

I will try all of these suggestions, thank you all! This is for my steam gauges, so, yes, it may not make total realistic sense, but I'd like to overlay a semitransparent mask to simulate panel lighting turning on, probably with the battery switch. IMG_4405.jpg Nice setup! The only thing that puzzl...

Re: API communication slow using messageport

Hi. Your problem can well be related to the interface type of your screen If you are using an Oled screen with an I2C interface, the refresh rate is way slower than using the same OLED but with an SPI interface. SPI uses more pins than I2C but is generally faster. It also can depend on which display...

Re: VERY vertical switch

You can always reuse the Generic vertical switch I had made a couple years ago, and which is somewhere in the Store, and resize the graphics to your liking in the img_add. switch_id = switch_add("red_ver_complete_off.png", "red_ver_complete_on.png", 0,0,70,130,switch_click_callback) image.png switch...
