Yep confirmed. The dimming works perfectly well in AM 3.4. The MAX 7219 character display does not function correctly in AM 3.5 but I think Corjan knows this and it will be fixed in an upcoming beta.

The brightness does work and there is no need for separate supplies for each display. They will run from the Arduino power but if you have several of these running for a prolonged period you will need more than the Arduino can provide. It this instance use a 5V supply with more power. Welcome to the forum. Yes you will need to run either Air Manager or Air Player on the sim machine as the AM bezel sits around the xplane pop out. They need to exist on the same machine.

On the instrument UUID. It would be very useful if we had visibility of an instruments UUID from within Create edit. Currently I am having to add an instrument to a panel to find out the UUID.

Yes Create/Edit so that would explain it. It should really work in Create/Edit as it does in 3.4 so you can test code while in development. This is exactly what I was doing before I realised it was not working.
