Re: global variables

Hi To me, It is not a problem of scope (local/global) of variables. The function set_power_xpl() is not called before the dataref has changed in the sim. The Power variable is set to nil at the very beginning and at runtime, Lua executes the three print() statements BEFORE the function has ever been...

External MSFS Bridge

@Ralph & @Corjan
I found this GitHub project that could be of some interest to you
was looking into making a universal framework/protocol for transmitting local events/variables regardless of where it is used

Re: ELECTRICAL MASTER BATTERY issues

Hi
Apparently the whole Lvars system is broken with the latest release of MSFS.

Guess we will all have to wait till the next Patch.

Re: Is there a panel instrument Carb Heat Swtich?

I correct myself, after a smart suggestion of Keith: Just use the xpl_command instead of xpl_dataref_write, it is easier.

Code: Select all

      xpl_command("sim/engines/carb_heat_on")
and

Code: Select all

      xpl_command("sim/engines/carb_heat_off")

Re: Is there a panel instrument Carb Heat Swtich?

It is about time you bit the bullet and dive into the joy of instrument development. :D The carb heat gauge is quite simple to develop, I guess it’s an ON/OFF lever IIRC. So basically what you’ll have to create is a switch, with two positions fully in and fully out. Probably something like 6 lines o...

Re: Help for Carenado Saab 340B instruments

Yes, I also found it weird that the transmission Datarefs seemed to be single values and not an array of values based per engine as usual. I think in Laminar’s mind the transmission is for helicopters with two turbines on a single transmission shaft. From videos I saw of the real SAAB 340 startup, t...

Well done Keith!
I like the sound of the 3D printer in the background (or so it seems)

Re: Help for Carenado Saab 340B instruments

Last one. Have you tried and searched for all the Datarefs that start with Thranda in dataref editor?
For nearly all the Carenado I know of, their published Datarefs always starts with Thranda/xxx so if you are lucky, one or more transmission oil Dataref might creep up

Re: Help for Carenado Saab 340B instruments

Another thought: Prop Oil and pressure are the temperatures of the oil of the gearbox that reduces the turbine speed to a much lower speed suitable for the constant speed prop. The gearbox oil pressure is more or less the same as the engine one (same oil pumps circuitry) and the gearbox temperature ...
