Re: Arduino Uno not connecting

I have had this working on Uno and Mega, I have tried the demo sketch now and it works, however loading my sketch does not, I have checked all the message port code and it is identical to the demo but it does not work. Is there a critical time between ticks?? Clearly it isn’t identical else it woul...

Re: Arduino Uno not connecting

Hi JohnF,

A blank sketch won't work as there needs to be the basic's in the Aurduino to communicate with Air Manager. As suggested you can try the example sketch on the wiki or perhaps try watching the message port tutorial video (linked in my signature below).

Submissions update

Hi All, You may or may not know that just recently I’ve been helping out with the store submissions and would like to update everyone on a couple of things. The aim in all this is to get the submissions queue length down such that new submissions can be dealt with on a more regular basis. Many of yo...

Re: AM 4.1

On a sour note. The panel ordering bug is back. How i produced this. In the home tab create a clone of an existing panel. Choose one mid way in your list. Now try to move that panel to the very top and bottom of the list using CTRL and the up/down arrows. You should see it will not move above the pa...

Re: Wiring a real C172 Ignition Switch

You just connect gnd to batt and start to an I/O line. It’s that simple. When not in start the line is pulled high by internal pull-up, when in start position the line is grounded. Remember this is only to tell AM and not for a real application. Pretty sure this is how we helped someone else do this...

Re: Wiring a real C172 Ignition Switch

Shouldn’t need to complicate it with power or resistors. I think just using gnd for the commons and utilising the built-in pull-ups for all 3 lines should work out fine. Adding extra external resistors will not harm though.

Re: x-plane dataref communication problem

Yes sometimes it’s a waste. However sometimes a FLOAT is used to indicate position. In this case it’s for a door and a door can be part way open, hence it’s not digital. They tend to be used for other similar things such as cowl flaps, speed brakes, choke etc.

Re: Wiring a real C172 Ignition Switch

That standard ignition switch code will not work with a real aircraft ignition switch for the reasons I stated towards the beginning of this thread. You can get it to work but as Ralph said you need to get your head round how the real switch functions. You should be able to make it work with just 3 ...
