Unfortunately they are constantly tinkering with the OS. First you could hide it, then you couldn't, and now it seems you can.
In theory, making a panel fullscreen should do the trick. But I'm not sure if that still works.

Then you are probably not in the correct folder with your command. You first have to make your way to the folder.

Nothing is a bit vague indeed. It often happens that the Air Player license is not activated and people look at a blank panel, because it won't load instruments. Also good to check in your case if the Air Player license is activated.
