Re: AM 4.0.1 : Arduino UNO not running stepper motor

I also have this issue with a MEGA...using a Pololu driver it worked perfectly in 3.7.1. No longer works in 4.0. I can hear the coils lockup but no movement regardless of steps /rev or rpm settings.

Re: Reading Simultaneous Button Presses

Tony’s M803 indeed works perfect with the functions called on the button release. A great free instrument to look at is the JPI700. It uses a timing function to add long button presses to the logic. I’ve made quite a few upgrades to this instrument that utilizing single and dual presses and releases...

Re: Piper Arrow SimPit with Aspen 1000

Well done JackZero, the Aspen is a fine centerpiece to your rig. Can you share the source of the Aspen screen? I currently run an Aspen as part of a monitor full of virtual instruments. I've been thinking of transitioning to mechanical instruments and retain the Aspen on the correctly sized small sc...

Re: Garmin flip flops not flip flopping correctly

I'll add I've had the annoying same problem when using the native X-plane GNS 530/430. Previously, I had used the Reality XP version of the 530 with the standard XP commands and NAV flip flop behavior was fine. So it seems to be an X-plane thing. Correction to the above I'll add I've had the annoyi...

Re: Arduino ADC resolution

Agreed that would be a nice improvement. That is why I only assign the global variables in the dataref callback. Try to keep is as light as possible. The heavier lifting is limited to 10Hz.

Re: Arduino ADC resolution in Motorized Trim Wheel

I did some experimenting with the hysteresis settings and the error sensitivity setting in the code. With the hysteresis set at .001 the callback was firing continuously, which is surprising for a high quality (45USD) pot. With it set to .002, I'm indeed seeing 512 steps, and with an error band of ....

Re: Arduino ADC resolution

Thanks Joe for your insight. You are correct in that the implementation you suggest is the most straight forward. This is similar to Ian's solution from bffsimulation.com. I am however using real life Piper hardware where the trim indicator is mechanically tied to the wheel. The wheel permits 6 full...

Re: Arduino ADC resolution

I somewhat figured that’s how it worked. I did install a very high end Bournes pot expecting this. I will start reducing the hysteresis and report back on my findings.

Arduino ADC resolution

I’ve just finished up building and programming a powered trim wheel for my rig. To run the trim wheel during autopilot usage I do a comparison between The X-Plane trim dataref and the equivalent trim calculated from the position pot tied to the trim wheel. When they get too different I run the trim ...
