Many thanks to Ralph for helping a techno-dope like me get set up with Air Manager/X-Plane. As usual, USER ERROR....or in this case, USER STUPIDITY. Everything working fine now. I'm a happy guy (once again ).

Yep, as stated, I uninstalled, turned off EVERY form of Windows security (defender, firewall, AV, etc.) re-ran, same result. As stated in previous post, running on same computer as the sim (X-Plane).
