Re: Interesting and novel electronics / hardware thread. - Components, parts, prebuilt , anything useful

Hi!
On the 737 Overhead panel, some switches require you to pull them out/unlock them before you can move the switch. What would the mechanism be called and where could I find a similar switch?

Thanks!
Brady

Re: x-plane dataref communication problem

I've wondered that too. A switch is never going to be in a half position. But, I bet there is some reason why they use FLOATs instead of INTs.

Auto-Detect Input

Hi! I think some-sort of auto-detect input would be a nice feature for AM. So if you have a clutter of wires that you just plugged in to your Arduino, you can send an input through a push a button, a switch, etc., and AM would detect the latest input and display what pin the correlates to. What do y...

Re: Interesting and novel electronics / hardware thread. - Components, parts, prebuilt , anything useful

On a Forum post / thread I mentioned these switches due to them being excellent quality and having the ability to be set to any number of positions between 1 and 12 very easily so thought I would add them to the 'interesting hardware list' as a few were not aware of these and their capabilities. Fo...

Re: Scam Bots

Hi,
Something more secure has to be done, the most recent bot was a bot advertising all types of adult content. After seeing that, this forum doesn't feel the same anymore to me at least. Is there a way to filter words out or something along that?

Re: AM Not Detecting the Position Until an Update

Understandable, I never expected you to re-write my code in the first place. I really appreciate your work!

Re: AM Not Detecting the Position Until an Update

I moved the request_callback further down past the txt_adds but to no avail.

Re: AM Not Detecting the Position Until an Update

Sorry for the confusion, it turns out I was using your older version of the code. Yes, your updated code works with Zibo 737 3.45+. Thanks for your work! Back to the beginning of the thread, does anyone know why the request_callback(battery) wasn't doing anything until it was put into a function? Wa...

Re: AM v4 detects Xplane only when Xplane is running :-(

Xplane doesn't need to be running while creating panels or instruments. It is a good idea to have Xplane running while you test your instruments. However if you don't want to start Xplane, you can manually send values to your instruments through the panel at the bottom right of Air Manager.
